Dodge Convertible Tops and Convertible Top Parts
Dodge is named after its founders, the Dodge brothers who had been bicycle mechanics! Our factory had begun collecting original convertible tops, from which to duplicate perfect fitting soft top replacements, in the forties. Our Dodge convertible tops are available beginning with the 1946-48 Dodge and through all models (Polara, Coronet, Wayfarer, Royal, Lancer, Dart and Dart Phoenix, Challenger, the Dodge 400, 600, Custom 880) right on through the nineties Dodge Shadow convertibles.
Classic Top Design:
All these Dodge convertibles have the classic two part convertible top design. The main portion of the convertible top and the window (rear) portion are integrated during the installation. Installation never requires sewing. The convertible soft top installs with staple (or tacks) and glue. The process is described in our own manual.
Fabrics:
Original fabrics were canvas and then pinpoint vinyl convertible top materials. There are many top fabrics possible for replacing any Dodge convertible top. If you select the link, on the right, to your Dodge convertible top you will see a description of the original fabric but also be invited to select alternative convertible top fabric of your choice.
Quality and Warranty:
Our "Help" page goes into detail on these. There are many manufacturers of convertible tops. Most top manufacturers use computer assisted cutting, electronic welding, high grade threads, etc. And most convertible tops are warrantied for five years. We try, without overloading the "Help" page to clarify a few important convertible top issues. We have been manufacturing parts for nearly all the top factories for over thirty years. Thus we have access to all their convertible tops for re-sale. This allows us to select the best top and our volume provides us with the ability to secure the best service possible to our convertible top customers.
