Ford Mustang Convertible Tops and Convertible Top Parts
Ford Mustang convertibles were manufactured from 1964 to 1973 and then from 1983 onward. The earlier classic Mustang convertibles are now valuable classic convertibles, among the most sought after and valuable modern convertible cars.
After a suspension of American convertibles during the seventies Mustang convertibles went back into production in 1983. The Mustang convertibles quickly became popular again. These Mustang convertibles are actively restored and soft tops (replacement convertible tops) are available from many sources.
A Wide Selection of Mustang Convertible Tops
We can supply replacement Mustang convertible tops in original configuration and fabrics. Alternative fabrics, such as the Stayfast Canvas are also available for all our Mustang soft tops. We also carry convertible top boots, convertible top frame tack strips, well liners, top pads and other parts for all years that they were original equipment.
Installing a Mustang Convertible Top:
These convertible tops are all
classic two part tops. The main top and the rear window section (called the "curtain") are integrated upon installation. You can read the summary of our two part convertible top installation manual below. It should help you decide whether you are a candidate for installing a replacement Mustang top yourself. We also have the top installation manuals with details for each Mustang convertible top.
Mustang Convertible Top Packages:
We offer restoration packages for Mustang convertibles containing not only the Mustang top but required cables, tack strips and other usually needed parts. Our Mustang top packages come with the do-it-yourself step by step installation manual. Owner installation of classic convertible tops is commonly done but you should opt for do-it-yourself installation after reading the summary of our two part top manual. The full two part convertible top installation manual is available at your Mustang Convertible car link (above right).
Purchasing One of the Top Sections:
The main top (the section of the convertible top that covers from the windshield back to the rear window, is available separately. So is the rear window section of the convertible top (called the "curtain" in the trade.) Either can be installed with the other section of the soft top retained. More information on this is available at the "About These Tops" section at your convertible Mustang page (links to the right/above.)
