The original Maserati convertible top was made in German Sonnenland canvas cloth. The backing was usually tan.
In late 1989 the Chrysler Maserati TC was introduced. This takes a different top. The tops on this page are for the 1986-89 Bi-Turbos and the Zagato Spiders. If yours is a "TC" please "continue shopping" and select the Maserati TC.
The bindings on our tops are hand rolled, as original. The window lining will be gray or tan ultrasuede to match the headliner. Please specify gray or tan window lining in your checkout message box.
The headliner is not supplied with the top. it is available as an accessory; see below.
The top has the plastic rear window.
Although originally German Sonnenland, these Maserati convertible tops can be supplied in the American canvas versions, either sonnendeck (twillfast) or Haartz stayfast canvas.
The outer canvas is very similar among the three: it is hard to tell them apart without critical close examination. The German has an approximately fifteen percent greater wear rating than either the sonnendeck or the stayfast. The stayfast has a plain cloth inner lining (as opposed to the original cross-weave of the german and the sonnendeck). Also, please note that stayfast canvas is only offered with the black inside lining color.
