Important Information
Original Factory Color(s): Black and Tan

This page is for the 1958-61 Jaguar XK-150 drop head coupe. There is a "Jaguar Roadster" of the same period; its tops are listed on another page. The drop head coupe has a padded top with several top frame wood bows. The top is tacked to a rear deck tack strip set.

The original topping fabric was a cotton canvas cloth. Most replacement tops are sold in Haartz stayfast canvas cloth and a pinpoint vinyl. The original colors were black and tan. Our replacement tops are black with black lining and tan with black lining.

The inner headliner is a separate part and is not included with the top.

Alternate Material:We also are pleased to offer a premium German Sonnenland Canvas.

German Sonnenland Canvas is the original German made canvas used in many Mercedes, Porsche, BMW and other convertibles. It's general construction is very similar to the other two canvases. It is hard to tell the surfaces apart among the three. But the manufacturing specifications make this the longest lasting top. There is an approximate twenty percent greater wear rating for Sonnenland than for Haartz Stayfast. Some of this is due to the abrasion resistance of the exterior canvas. This is a factor in certain tops where the framework design tends to produce friction between the top's surface and the car's hardware. (It is a well known 'trade secret' that the Haartz Division of Glen Raven Mills purchased the Sonnenland factory.)

Wooden Bows:We are Jaguar specialists and we stock the replacement wood bows for restoration of drop head coupes. These bows are accurate and sturdy reproductions of the original top wood.

Application:The top is sold with a zippered plastic rear window. This is a separate section of the top. The two sections are joined during installation with staples or tacks into the middle top wood bow. A molding covers the staples.

The wood pieces may not be clearly identifiable from their descriptions. You may email us for a diagram showing the wood. Or you may wish to check off each wood piece you may (or may not) need. We will accept any returned wood for full refund if you order several pieces but do not require all of them.
