Original Factory Color(s): Black and Tan

Information:The 1958-61 Jaguar XK-150 Roadster appeared a few months after the fixed and drop head coupe versions in March 1958. The new car featured proper wind-up door windows and door handles along with an improved hood design.

To make use of the shorter cockpit area, the XK150 Roadster featured a longer bonnet and a revised front scuttle panel. This gave the car a sleeker look than the heavier drop head XK150. Of concern to the restorer of the soft top is the condition of the folding frame, and the Roadster tops do not have a headliner, the top stores in the trunk. There is a wood front tacking bow. (In the drop head coupe the top is padded and the frame has several wood tacking bows).

These roadster tops were originally black cotton canvas cloth. Most replacement tops are made of Haartz stayfast canvas cloth.

Original colors were black and tan. Both colors are available in Haartz stayfast canvas (with black inside linings).

The top has a zippered plastic rear window.

Replacement of the Wood Top Front Bow There is a wood top bow across the front part of the top frame that lowers on to the windshield. This bow was originally milled, at the factory, to fit the frame. Our bow is milled to fit our test frame so that it can be installed without additional milling (though minor touch up grinding may be required.) The manufacturer of this bow makes the finished product very delicate because we have milled out the sections that clear the hasps in the top frame.
