Important Information
Original Factory Color(s): Black

Fabrics:
The original topping was canvas and sold in either black or brown, in most cars. The German Sonnenland canvas top is available for absolutely high end restoration. This is more expensive, but somewhat more durable than the original Haartz Stayfast. The two fabrics are very hard to tell apart based on appearance.

Do-It-Yourself Installation:
The design of this top lends itself to easier DIY installation than most. The design of this top involves gluing, a few pop rivets, and the insertion of the permanent binding retainers which hold fabric into position. There is no sewing involved. Even stapling has been eliminated. The top is made in a single unit, unlike most American convertible tops which require integrating two separate sections (the main top and the window section.)

We offer an illustrated step by step instruction booklet for this top.

Headliner:
The headliner is the interior roof lining. The original headliner is a black soft cloth fabric. The headliner is a part that is separate from the top and listed as an accessory. We do carry the original replacement in black. An existing headliner may be retained when a new top is installed.

Original Fabrication:
Our top is made as original, with three plastic windows and matching piping.

Hold Down Cables:
Cables install into the side hems of the top. They are not visible after the top is installed. Cables hold the top to the frame at the front and back on each side. New cables are recommended with each top.
