Important Information
Original Factory Color(s): Black, Tan and Light Neutral

These are the 1940 convertible coupes. The top is made to original patterns from modern Haartz stayfast canvas. It includes the bow pads and the required installation trim. There is no rear window. A "blank curtain" is supplied. This enables the restorer to add either a plastic window or a suspended window frame and glass window, or to leave the back as solid fabric.

This top is tacked to wooden forms, called wood top bows, that are attached to the frame. There is a front bow that is over the windshield. There is a rear top wood bow over the rear window. Our replacement rear top bow is laminated with layers of wood bonded with marine glue. This is the modern method for bending and is much superior to the old steam bending methods. The result is much more stable and enduring.
