Haartz Stayfast Canvas:The original Eclipse Spyder top was made of Haartz Stayfast Canvas. Haartz Stayfast is the American substitute for the German canvases used in Mercedes, Porsche, BMW, as well as some Mustang and Lebaron models. This canvas is a little richer looking than the vinyl. It's also a little harder to clean. Stayfast canvas has a canvas outer layer and a preshrunk cotton inner layer. The two are bonded by a butyl rubber core, which makes the fabric last a very long time. Stayfast Canvas has both better static and dynamic wear ratings than vinyl toppings. It's a great choice for a Mitsubishi top.

Chrysler Sailcloth Vinyl:This 36-ounce vinyl is featured on many late LeBarons, Sebrings, certain Mustangs and other cars. It is structurally (wear quality) equivalent to Haartz Pinpoint Vinyl but has a different surface grain. The Sailcloth grain was designed to imitate the look of canvas. German Sonnenland Canvas:This is a luxurious Eclipse Spyder convertible top. German Sonnenland Canvas is used in many Mercedes, Porsche, BMW and other convertibles. German Sonnenland canvas is a three-ply material made of a twill weave outer layer, a rubber inner layer and a dobby weave lining. Of these three Eclipse convertible top fabrics, this is the most durable and longest-lasting. Sonnenland Canvas has an approximate 20 percent greater wear rating than Haartz Stayfast.
