Corvette Top Fabric:
The Chevrolet Corvette convertible top fabric was originally pinpoint vinyl for the fifties and sixties Chevy Corvettes. Later Corvettes included Targa tops. Our Corvette tops are for the convertible soft top replacement.

Late model Corvette convertibles used Chrysler sailcloth vinyl and also canvas as the dealer top fabric on original convertible soft tops.

Installing Your Corvette Top:
Full restoration of Corvette convertibles is very widespread as Corvette Sting Rays and other Corvette convertibles are now classics. The Corvette convertible top is a classic two piece soft top. This means that the top rear window is one section and is installed from the rear top bow down to the base line. The main Corvette top installs over it. Note: In some Corvette tops the two sections are partially attached to each other.

Two Part Tops: Can I Install Myself?
We offer a profusely illustrated convertible top manual, now in its fourth edition. This covers, in detail, all the steps for do-it-yourself convertible top installation. In particular, the manual applies to these cars which all have a two part convertible top. Owners may purchase the manual to review it before purchasing a convertible top package. We would then pro-rate future purchase of the convertible top when it is ordered.

If you can use an air compressor driven staple gun, and are patient and methodical, you are very likely to be able to install any of these convertible tops. The convertible top packages include everything needed in most cases. (Convertible top frame seals must be ordered separately if required.)

Note that there is no sewing involved in installing a two part convertible top. There is stapling and there is manipulation of the top fabric which in places is applied with contact cement. Dealer Replacement and aftermarket Corvette tops:Our site lists all of our 'made as original' Corvette soft tops. Corvette convertible tops are made utilizing original dealer patterns; they are not 'copies of copies.' We offer Corvette tops with original glass and original plastic rear windows, as indicated. Also, convertible tops with non-original plastic rear windows are offered as cost savings replacement tops in place of original glass, as an option.
