To take clear, focused photos, follow these simple steps:

1. Set your camera resolution to 3 megapixels or higher. Bigger is better.
2. Turn off your flash if possible (using a flash at close range produces a bright 'hot spot' in the center of your photo and makes everything else look dark).
3. Stand at least 6 feet away from your car; many cameras can't focus on objects much closer than about 3 feet away from the lens.
4. Take your photo outdoors in natural sunlight if possible.
5. Make sure the sun is behind you or to the side of the car you're trying to photograph. Do not take photos with the sun BEHIND the car!
6. Make sure the car is in even light (not half in the shade and half in the sun). Do not stand where your body casts a shadow on the car!
7. Use your autofocus (push the shutter button halfway down, pause to allow the camera to autofocus, and then fully depress the button to take the photo).
8. Use a high contrast background. For instance, don't take a photo of a black car in front of a black wall - you won't be able to see any detail in the photo. Drive your car to the beach and take a photo with your black car in front of the white sand etc etc etc. When taking photos outdoors, try to pick an interesting background, but one that doesn't make parts of your car 'disappear' or blend in to the background.

1. If possible, park your car somewhere with pretty outdoor nature scenery.
2. Walk in a circle around your car, stopping every 45-degrees or so, taking a photo at each stopping point. Make sure you include the entire car and some background space around the car without 'chopping off' any parts in these 8 photos.

All submissions become the property of M and T Mfg Co and may be used in our website, advertising, and for other promotional purposes. Prizes will be awarded on the first Monday of every month. Results of the contest will be posted to the convertibletopguys.com website the same day, and the winning client will be notified by email. Clients that submit photos via email shall be automatically entered into the contest.
