Important Information
Original Factory Color(s): Black, Tan and Light Neutral

Original Patterns:
These tops are made using original patterns that the factory obtained many years ago. They are not copies of copies.

Fabrics:
The original convertible top was made of canvas. The modern anti-fade Haartz Stayfast canvas is the best topping fabric for this car. Haartz pinpoint vinyl is also an elegant classic fabric. It is less expensive than the Stayfast canvas.

Rear Window:
We offer a plastic rear window section and also a "blank curtain." The blank curtain is for those with access to a frame and glass that will be installed into the rear section (curtain.)

Two Part Tops:
This is a classic two part top. We are offering both sections together, for the typical restorer (either with the plastic rear window curtain or the blank curtain.)

Please inquire if you wish to order the main top only, or the curtain only.

Installation Manual:
The two parts of the top are integrated during the installation. The process is summarized in the blue link below. The full classic top install manual is available; listed as an accessory. The do-it-yourself installer should be comfortable using an air driven staple gun and with aligning and gluing with contact cement. (Note: only stainless steel staple should be used.) There is no sewing.

Pads:
Foam pads, encased in fabric, are installed under the top and "build out" the top. Our pad set comes with the longer and the shorter (rear) pads. Most restorers of classics are opting for the pads wrapped in vinyl.

Custom Order:
These tops require about three weeks before they can be shipped.

Hydraulics:

We now stock hydraulic cylinders, motor-pumps, and hoses for your convertible tops. All are made to OEM specifications. Each can be ordered separately; however, when ordering hydraulic cylinders we recommend replacing both. The chances are that both hydraulic cylinders were manufactured at the same time: if one is on its way out the other may follow. If the top is raised and one hydraulic cylinder is working harder than the other the result over time can lead to a slightly bent convertible top frame. The replacement of both hydraulic cylinders will ensure that the top raises and lowers symmetrically.

Systems for this car take Automatic Transmission Fluid (ATF) and have a 5 year warranty when used with this fluid. Brake fluid should not be used as it voids the warranty. We also offer an installation manual when ordered.

The 12 volt motor-pumps include a mounting bracket with rubber grommets to reduce vibration.

We also offer a rebuilding service for motor-pumps. Not all are repairable, but it is less expensive to have one rebuilt than to buy a new one. The motor-pump would need to be sent to us for evaluation. Hoses come with all new fittings and are made specifically to fit your car.
